Not far from the Brooklyn Museum, the Garden is open Tuesday-Friday from 8AM to 6PM from April to September, and from 8AM to 4:30PM from October to March.

Local eating establishments range from formal restaurants and ethnic dining to cafeterias, health food, delicatessens, and take-outs.
They are located throughout the area within walking distance of the courthouse. Montague Street has number of eateries, as do Remsen, Court, Henry, Clark, Tillary, Adams Street, Fulton(which also has a shoppers mall), and Willoughby Streets, and Cadman Plaza West. Street carts are also present in various areas around Borough Hall.

Major department stores are located in the Fulton Mall, although Montague Street, Clinton Street and other avenues have a variety of shops, drug stores, heath food stores, photo services, etc.
