Professional Experience
Cofounder of Acumen ADR and a mediator, arbitrator and dispute resolution and settlement strategy advisor. Began career as a trial attorney with the N.Y.C. Legal Aid Society, Tried numerous cases to verdict. After obtaining an LL.M. in Trade Regulations, joined an intellectual property firm and handled copyright and trademark litigations and general commercial matters. Spent the bulk of career as an in-house counsel at MasterCard (27 years), half of it as General Counsel. In that capacity, managed all, and personally handled most, of the company's litigations and related dispute resolutions. Those included all manner of disputes including, commercial, licensing, employment, antitrust, copyright, trademark, and insurance matters, many of which were resolved through mediations personally handled. Began serving as a mediator in 2012. Also negotiated major transactions and acquisitions and managed the successful IPO of MasterCard in 2006. Following the IPO, was named Chief Franchise Officer and had business responsibility for licensing, fraud prevention and detection, information security, diversity and other functions in addition to General Counsel. In 2014 was named President & CEO of CPR Institute, a leading ADR provider and thought leader. During 5 year tenure, CPR recognized for ADR innovation in both mediation and arbitration.

ADR Experience
Successfully mediated a broad array of cases including commercial disputes, age discrimination, insurance, trademark infringement, sexual harassment, disability discrimination, securities, construction, Fair Credit Reporting Act violations, sexual preference discrimination Member of CPR's panel of Distinguished Mediators, and Southern District, Second Circuit, FINRA, NAM and N.Y.S. Commercial Division mediation panels. Also on arbitration panels of American Arbitration Association, FINRA and CPR.
