I received my undergraduate degree from Cornell University and my law degree from New England Law. During my career I have practiced at small, medium and large national law firms. I developed the training and discipline that is essential to provide high quality legal services to clients. I have also presented at seminars and written extensively about legal developments and cases of interest. A list of these presentations and written materials can be found on my bio at http://www.culhanemeadows.com/attorney/robert-dremluk/.
I am a partner in the New York office of Culhane Meadows, practicing primarily in the areas of litigation, finance, bankruptcy, and creditors' rights. My work focuses on diverse interests in federal and bankruptcy court litigation and advice and risk assessment regarding transactional matters, including asset purchases, structured finance transactions, real estate workouts, foreclosures, and purchases and sales of distressed assets. I understand transaction structures and regularly analyzes deal terms. This experience is invaluable because it provides a practical understanding of issues that help shape and develop successful litigation positions and strategies. Simply put, I make deals and, when necessary, know how to litigate to enforce clients' rights. I have been involved in a wide spectrum of transaction and litigation matters, some of which can be described as bet the company matters. These matters include corporate restructuring, bankruptcy and creditors' rights, distressed M&A, asset sales, transactional advisory and risk analysis, commercial litigation and real estate finance. From an industry perspective I have represented entities involved in the following businesses: airlines, chemicals, insurance, defense, drugs, equipment leasing & financing, healthcare, hedge funds, financial services, hospitality, manufacturing, real estate, software, minerals and mining, media and publishing, retail, real estate finance and telecommunications.
I have acted as counsel in a mediation involving four related single asset (cooperative apartment corporations) Chapter 11 cases that resulted in confirmation of a joint plan of reorganization. I have acted as a mediator or early neutral evaluator in a variety of matters including, but not limited to, insurance subrogation claims, products liability actions, personal injury claims and commercial lease disputes. I am generally familiar with residential judicial real estate foreclosure matters, especially in the context of bankruptcy cases.
I hold an AV Preeminent Rating® in the Martindale-Hubbell Legal Directory, meaning that I have reached the height of professional excellence and am recognized by my peers for the highest levels of skills and integrity. I am also regularly recognized in SuperLawyers Magazine (a Thomson Reuters publication) as one of the top restructuring lawyers in New York.
