Before deciding to devote himself full-time to arbitration and mediation practice, Roger was the Managing Partner of Jacobs Rosenberg, LLC, a Labor and Employment boutique in Newark, New Jersey, where he represented large public and private employers as well as serving as both a neutral and advocate in arbitration matters and as a mediator. Roger was consistently in Super Lawyers and previously served as Chairman of the Committee on Labor and Employment Law at the New York County Lawyers Association as well as first Chairman of the Sports Law Committee at NYCLA. Roger is the author of several texts and law review articles in the Labor and Employment field and taught collective bargaining at Fordham University School of Law for 12 years. He was also on the Adjunct Faculty at Rutgers, teaching classes on employment discrimination and the Americans With Disabilities Act as well as New York Law School. Previously, Roger was an associate at Guggenheimer and Untermeyer in New York City and also served as a Prosecutor in both New York and New Jersey.
Mr. Jacobs has been selected dozens of times as an arbitrator in matters involving employment and commercial disputes and hundreds of times as a mediator in a wide variety of disputes involving intellectual property, commercial issues, partnership dissolution, construction, contract interpretation, restrictive covenants, and labor and employment and collective bargaining issues. His activities and accolades in the fields of arbitration and mediation include the following: Listed in Super Lawyers from 2010 through 2016; Adjunct Professor at Fordham School of Law teaching a class on negotiations; Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators; Member at the Lagos Court of Arbitration. Roger is a panel member for AAA, CPR, FMCS, New York PERB, New Jersey PERC, and federal courts Eastern District of New York, Southern District of New York, District of New Jersey and the New York Supreme Court Commercial Division. Roger was recently selected as both a mediator and judge for the ICC International Mediation Competition in Paris, France, and has reviewed submissions for the Vis Moot Court Competition in Vienna, Austria.
