Judge Sterling Johnson, Jr

 
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
The Honorable Sterling Johnson, Jr., presides over more than 500 civil and criminal cases in the Eastern District of New York. Prior to his federal appointment, Judge Johnson was an attorney for 30 years, specializing in drug enforcement and the prosecution of narcotics cases. As the Special Narcotics Prosecutor for the City of New York, Judge Johnson supervised assistant district attorneys and investigators responsible for the preparation and prosecution of more than 7000 criminal cases. He has been a guest lecturer at many American universities and law schools, as well as in various countries throughout the world.

Establish sentencing policies and practices for the federal judiciary. Advised and assisted congress and the executive branch in the development of effective crime policies.

Investigated and prosecuted narcotic and narcotic-related cases. Supervised over 100 attorneys and 50 support staff.
