Notice to CM/ECF Filers

Effective 10/1/15 any Motion to Vacate, Set Aside, or Correct Sentence filed pursuant to 28 U.S.C. §2255 shall be filed on the Criminal Case in which the sentence was imposed.  Upon the issuance of the Notice of Electronic Filing (NEF) for the Motion to Vacate (2255) event, the CM/ECF database will automatically open a Civil Case.  Any documents relating to the Motion to Vacate (2255) shall only be filed on the Criminal Case. All docketing on the Civil Case is suppressed.  When the Court issues its Order on Motion to Vacate (2255) the CM/ECF database will automatically close the Civil Case.

For any Motion to Vacate, Set Aside, or Correct Sentence filed prior to 10/1/15 please continue to make docket entries relating to that motion on the Civil Case.  If the assigned judge’s individual rules require the documents to also be filed on the Criminal Case then please do so.

Any questions relating to these changes can be directed to the Clerk’s Office.
