Celebrate the 20th Anniversary of ADR in the Eastern District

Awards Ceremony followed by Special Guest Lecturer Jerome Cohen.
“Recognition for Service” Certificates will be given to all 20-year veteran EDNY Mediators and Arbitrators.
Following, NYU Law Professor Jerome Cohen will discuss negotiations involving Chen Guangcheng----the blind Chinese Human Rights activist who escaped to the U.S. Embassy in Beijing this spring and is now a scholar-in-residence at NYU Law. Professor Cohen will also discuss the use of mediation in Chinese-US business negotiations.
This free forum program celebrates the Mediation Settlement Initiative of 2012.
The program will begin at 5:00pm in the Jury Assembly Room, located on the Second Floor of the Brooklyn Federal Courthouse: 225 Cadman Plaza East, Brooklyn, NY. A judicial reception of food and wine will take place at 6:30PM in the Rotunda on the Second Floor.
CLE credit for attendees has been requested.

 The United States District Court has an opening for the position of ADR Administrator based at the Brooklyn Courthouse. The ADR Administrator plans, develops and implements the court-annexed alternative dispute resolution program (ADR) for the court. Assists with formulating policies and procedures related to the ADR-Mediation Program and works with Judges, Clerk of Court, committees of the Court and advisory groups in rules and procedures designed to achieve ADR related court goals.

The Clerk’s Office of the U.S. District Court is looking for candidates for the position of Case Processing Clerk. The incumbent provides clerical support by maintaining and processing case information.
