Emergency Applications Filed After Business Hours

INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILING EMERGENCY APPLICATIONS 

AFTER BUSINESS HOURS (from 4:30pm EST to 9:00am EST) 

 

 

 

Emergency Applications by Attorneys 

1. Attorneys should deliver original paper filings that require immediate judicial attention to the courthouse. Attorneys should date-stamp and deposit papers in the drop boxes located at the entrance to either courthouse using the date stamp at the courthouse and inform court security officers that this is an emergency application. Attorneys without CM/ECF access must apply immediately for E-filing access at www.pacer.gov. 

2. Attorneys may file emergency applications on CM/ECF, however, Clerk’s Office and chambers staff may not contact the attorney with further directions until the next business day.  

 

Emergency Applications by Self-Represented Parties 

1. Self-represented (pro se) parties should deliver original paper filings to the courthouse in an envelope

2. The envelope must have all contact information written on the outside of the envelope, including name, email address, street address, and a contact phone number.

3. Self-represented parties must date-stamp and deposit papers in the drop boxes located at the entrance to either courthouse using the date stamp in the courthouse lobby and inform court security officers that this is an emergency application. Clerk’s Office or chambers staff will contact the filer promptly with further directions.
