Chief Judge Margo K. Brodie announced today that the Judges of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York have appointed a Merit Selection Panel composed of attorneys and residents of the district (See Administrative Order No. 2021-16 on the Court’s website and attached below) to consider candidates for a United States Magistrate Judge vacancy in Central Islip, NY, for an eight (8)-year term, to be created by the retirement of U.S. Magistrate Judge A. Kathleen Tomlinson effective February 23, 2022, and to consider the reappointment of U.S. Magistrate Judge Ramon E. Reyes, Jr., for a new eight (8)-year term. The current term of U.S. Magistrate Judge Ramon E. Reyes, Jr., is due to expire on February 12, 2022. All comments and applications are due no later than August 8, 2021.
