  • How many days is the first free view on a NEF?

    This free view is only available during the first 15 days after the docket entry is made.

  • I am a pro se filer trying to file something under seal and I am receiving this error message - You are not authorized to seal an entry or document.

    Please contact the court (718) 613-2610 or (631) 712-6010 to make arrangements for filing.

  • I am adding a party to a civil case, do I need to enter an email address for the party?

    No, parties do not need email addresses added.

  • I am adding a party to a civil case, do I need update "Notice" from yes to no?

    Yes, you can update it to no. 

  • I am an attorney trying to file something under seal and I am receiving this error message - You are not authorized to seal an entry or document.

    Please contact the court at (718) 613-2610 or (631) 712-6010 to have your access on the case(s) updated.

  • I am filing a Rule 7.1 disclosure statement, what event do I use?

    Corporate Disclosure Statement

  • I am listed on a case, but am not receiving the notices. How can I resolve this?

    Please ensure that under your name on the docket is says (ATTORNEY TO BE NOTICED).

    If is does not, then contact the appropriate office Brooklyn (718 613-2610) or Central Islip (631 712-6010) with the case number so noticing can be updated.

  • I am opening a case and have voluminous parties to enter, how do I add them?

    Open the case following the instructions in the attorney case opening manual.

    Use the event (~Util - Add Parties) to add the voluminous parties. When all parties have been entered, then docket your initiating event.
    On the filer selection screen; click the  (NEW FILER) button.
    Search for the party; when prompted select the match ( Select Party) or if no match click on (Create New Party); update roletype  (do not enter mailing or email address information).then select ( Add Party) button.
    Repeat above steps for each party.

  • I am receiving an error message while trying to file a satisfaction of judgment, who do I contact to correct the error?

    When attempting to docket to a satisfaction of judgment and you receive this error:

    Update judgment information No Judgments For Case

    Please contact the appropriate docketing office.

  • I am trying to add an attorney to a case, what does this docket text mean (notification declined or already on case)?
    The docket text (notification declined or already on case), means:
    either the notification option was de-selected(notification declined) or the attorney is already representing party(s) on the case (already on case).
  • I am trying to file a restricted docket entry/pdf and I am not being prompted for the pdf. How do I file?

    You must chose the primary event and the restricted utililty event.

    Examples

    1 -Exparte Document - to be used ONLY in conjunction with primary event selection
    Notice of Settlement

    1 -Exparte Docket Entry and Document - to be used ONLY in conjunction with primary event selection
    Withdraw as Attorney

  • I am trying to file something under seal but I am receiving an error message SortDPF Failed what am I doing wrong?

  • I am unable to file a fillable form on CMECF, how can I file it?

    In version 1.8 of CMECF fillable forms can no longer be filed.  Please follow these steps to flatten the fillable form for filing.

    1. Select File, then select Print
    2. Change the Printer name to Adobe PDF by clicking on the drop-down arrow and selecting Adobe PDF
    3. Click Print
    4. Specify desired location and file name to save document, then select SAVE
    5. The "flattened" PDF may now be electronically filed in CM/ECF.
  • I am unsure what event code to use for a filing, is there someone I can contact to check on the correct code to use?

    You can contact the docketing department.  For Brooklyn cases (718 613-2610), for Long Island cases (631-712-6010).

  • I cannot find an event for filing discovery documents what event can I use?

    Please refer to Local Rule 5.1 regarding the filing of discovery documents.
