AFTER BUSINESS HOUR FILINGS: There is a drop box located in the lobby of the Brooklyn and Central Islip Courthouses. Pleadings that are date-stamped and deposited in the drop box will be deemed filed on the date that they are stamped.

Procedure

• After business hours, all emergency applications, including all new cases asking for a temporary restraining order (TRO) or preliminary injunction, must be delivered to the courthouse in paper form.

• All filings must be signed originals with two copies.

• The filer must date-stamp the filings at the drop box in the courthouse lobby and inform the court security officers that this is an emergency application.

• The filer must provide the court security officers with written contact information, including name, email address, street address, and phone number.

• The filer must wait for further instruction from the court security officers. If the court security officers direct the filer to leave the courthouse, Clerk’s Office or Chambers staff will contact the filer promptly with further instructions.

Do not file new cases that are asking for a TRO or preliminary injunction on CM/ECF after business hours. Such cases will not receive judicial attention until the next business day.

The Clerk's Office in Brooklyn and Central Islip are open to the public from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, except for the holidays listed on the following webpage: https://www.nyed.uscourts.gov/court-hours-and-holidays
The last admittance to the Clerk's Office will be at 4:45 p.m. on weekdays.

FAX FILINGS ARE NOT ACCEPTED.
