Effective March 18, 2020, until further notice, any requests for adjournments or scheduling of court conferences in either civil or criminal cases must be filed electronically via ECF. Hard courtesy copies are not required. For urgent requests, contact Judge Irizarry’s Case Manager, Christy Carosella, by email at Christy_Carosella@nyed.uscourts.gov or leave a detailed voice message at 718-613-2155, noting the attorney’s name and telephone number, case name and docket number, and reason for the adjournment or conference. Emails and voice messages may not be returned immediately, but will be responded to as soon as practicable. DO NOT CALL OR SEND EMAILS REPEATEDLY. DO NOT CALL CHAMBERS. 

BAIL APPLICATIONS: Effective April 22, 2020, until further notice or unless otherwise ordered, requests for bail hearings in criminal cases are to be filed via ECF and should specify whether the appearance of the defendant is waived for purposes of disposition of the request. The government shall respond in writing via ECF within 48 hours of the filing of the bail request. Hard courtesy copies are not required. The matter will be addressed by Judge Irizarry on the papers. If the bail request is granted, allocution of the defendant and suretors (if any) as to bail conditions and responsibilities shall be referred to the Duty Magistrate Judge. In accordance with Administrative Order 2020-6, paragraph 9, such proceedings must be scheduled with the approval of the Duty Magistrate Judge.
